Terms of service

Last updated 15 October 2026.

These terms govern your use of the soldcomparables.com service. By creating an account, running a search or paying for a plan, you agree to them. If you use the service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you can bind it, and "you" means that company. The service is run by the administrator of the soldcomparables.com service, reachable at [email protected].

The service

SoldComparables finds recorded sales of domain names comparable to the name you enter and builds a value estimate from them. The estimate shows a low, likely and high value in USD, a wholesale and a retail figure, a confidence level and a plain English rationale that cites the sales it used. Depending on your plan, the service also offers saved reports, PDF and CSV exports, bulk appraisal lists, a portfolio view, TLD market pages, white label reports, shared workspaces and a REST API. What each plan includes is listed on the pricing page.

Accounts

You sign up with an email address and a password and confirm the address with a 6 digit code we email to you. You must be at least 18. You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys secret and for everything done under your account. Tell us at once at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.

Each account belongs to a workspace. The workspace owner decides who joins it and with which role. Seats are fixed per plan (1 on Pro, 2 on Investor, 5 on Broker) and extra seats cannot be bought. Sharing one login between several people is not allowed.

Searches without an account and the one-time report

Without an account, you can run one search per day. It shows 3 comparable sales and the estimate range, and the rest of the result stays locked.

After you sign up and confirm your email, you get one full report, once: all comparable sales, the estimate, the rationale and a PDF marked "Preview". This one-time report is a demonstration of the product. It is not a plan, it does not renew and it is not repeated for new accounts of the same person or workspace. There is no free plan.

Subscriptions

All plans are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly in advance. The yearly price is 50 percent below twelve monthly payments and is charged once for the year. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. Card payments are confirmed with 3D Secure.

A workspace has one subscription at a time. When you move to a higher plan or from monthly to yearly billing, the difference for the rest of the period is charged immediately, and the new plan starts once that payment succeeds. When you move to a lower plan, the change applies from the next period and no money is returned.

Prices are shown on the pricing page. We may change prices for future periods and will tell you by email at least 30 days before a change affects your renewal.

Usage limits

Each plan has monthly limits: comp searches, saved reports, comps per search, names in bulk lists and, on Broker, API calls. Limits count usage in the billing period, meaning each search, report, bulk name or API call is counted when it is made. Deleting a saved report, a search or a list does not return usage. Unused usage does not carry over to the next period. No plan is unlimited.

When you reach a limit, the feature stops until the next period or until you move to a higher plan. We may also slow down or stop traffic that looks automated or abusive, even below the limits.

Estimates are not appraisals or guarantees

An estimate is a data-backed opinion built from recorded sales of other names. It is not a certified appraisal, not a valuation for tax, accounting, legal or lending purposes and not a guarantee that a name will sell, or sell at any price. Domain prices depend on the buyer, timing, venue and negotiation, and many sales are never reported. Where there are few comparable sales, the service says so and lowers its confidence. Where no comparable recorded sale exists above 1,000 USD, it says so and gives no figure.

You remain responsible for your own buying, selling and pricing decisions. How estimates are built is described on the methodology page.

Data sources and attribution

Recorded sales come from public NamePros "Daily Domain Sales" reports, which republish NameBio top sales charts. Every sale is shown with its venue, date and a link to the public report it came from. We do not invent sales. Reported sales start at 1,000 USD, and the latest recorded sale in the data is dated 28 May 2026. The data is a sample of the market, not a complete record of all sales.

If you show sales from the service to others (in a report, a pitch or a listing), keep the venue and the source link with each sale. White label reports remove our branding, not the attribution of sales.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • scrape, crawl or bulk download the service, the result pages or the sales data by any automated means other than the API on a plan that includes it;
  • copy, resell, sublicense or redistribute the corpus of recorded sales, or use it to build a competing database or service;
  • share API keys outside your workspace, embed them in public code or client-side applications, or use one workspace's keys for another business;
  • go around usage limits, for example by creating several accounts or workspaces;
  • try to access other workspaces, test the security of the service without permission or disrupt its operation;
  • use the service for anything unlawful.

Showing individual results to your own clients, in your own reports or on your own listings is allowed, with attribution as described above.

API

The API is included only in the Broker plan, with 5,000 calls per month counted as usage. Keys are created in the panel, shown once and stored as hashes. You can revoke a key at any time, and you must revoke a key you believe has leaked. Calls above the monthly limit receive an error and are not served. The API reference is on the API page.

Your content

Your searches, reports, lists, logos and company details remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to your workspace. Searches are private to your workspace, never published and never used to buy names.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time in the billing section of the panel, without writing to us. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and then the workspace moves to no plan. You can export your saved reports before the period ends.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, with notice where the breach can be fixed.

Payments are final

Payments are final. Refunds are given only for a duplicate charge, a proven unauthorised charge or a total service failure, as described in the refund policy. Cancelling does not reverse a payment that has already been collected.

Liability

The service is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost deals or decisions made on the basis of an estimate, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including rights consumers have under mandatory local law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects your rights, we tell account holders by email at least 30 days before it applies. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the change.

Is there a free plan on SoldComparables?
No. Anyone can run one search per day without an account and see 3 comps and the estimate range. After signing up, you get one full report, once, as a demonstration of the product. It does not renew. Ongoing use requires a Pro, Investor or Broker subscription.
Is a SoldComparables estimate a certified appraisal?
No. An estimate is a data-backed opinion built from recorded sales of other names. It is not a certified appraisal, not a valuation for tax, accounting or lending purposes and not a guarantee that a name will sell at any price. You remain responsible for your own pricing decisions.
Does deleting a report give back my monthly usage?
No. Limits count usage in the billing period, so each search, report, bulk name or API call counts when it is made. Deleting a report, a search or a list does not return usage, and unused usage does not carry over. Limits reset when the next billing period starts.
Can I scrape or resell SoldComparables data?
No. Automated scraping of the site, bulk downloading the sales data and reselling or redistributing the corpus are not allowed. You may show individual results to your own clients, in your reports or on your listings, as long as each sale keeps its venue and source link.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel at any time in the billing section of the panel, without writing to us. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Cancelling does not reverse a payment that was already collected, as set out in the refund policy.
